I am a senior physics undergraduate at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and President of our SPS chapter. Over the past several years I’ve become fascinated with science policy. Last summer I had the opportunity to spend several months in D.C. as one of the AIP Mather Science Policy Interns. This taught me a lot about how science fits into policymaking and cemented my desire to pursue the field further. I’m excited to return to D.C. as an SPS member and use my experience to help promote physics to Congress.
