I am a Senior Astrophysics and Politics & Government double major at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio. I’ve held both the President and Vice-President positions within my local SPS chapter, through which I’ve helped organize various physics outreach events to local schools in the Delaware community, as well as led a student initiative to participate in the March for Science in 2017. I’ve always had an unrelenting passion for astrophysics and politics; the ability of the universe to capture the imagination of every person, scientists and non-scientists alike, has continually astounded me. Dreams of celestial bodies have spurred nations to great endeavors, pushing the limits of what humanity is capable of. Science policy, the ever-arduous task of working with the government, is the vital framework upon which all these dreams are built. I aspire to pursue a doctoral degree in science and technology policy as I see a future for myself advocating for scientific causes within the government.
