SSAI Academic Scholarship
I am a rising Senior dual-degree student in physics and astronomy at the University of Maryland: College Park, with a minor in German. I engage actively with the undergraduate communities in physics and astronomy, volunteering at public outreach events as well as being an active member of our SPS chapter. I am a volunteer with our chapter’s free physics tutoring clinic, served as Treasurer for the 2021-2022 academic term, and will have the honor of serving as Vice President for the upcoming 2022-2023 term. I am also active with the Terrapin Astronomical Society and the Physics Undergraduate Committee. While at the university, I have undertaken research into cosmic air shower geometry with the Hight Altitude Water Cherenkov Observatory, and am currently involved in computational modeling studies of star formation in giant molecular clouds under the influence of strong magnetic fields. I have also studied The evolution of type-II supernovae simulations at Oak Ridge National Lab and energy reconstruction techniques with the Compact Muon Solenoid collaboration. In my free time, I am a fan of Sci-Fi (broadcast and print) and model building. After my undergraduate, I aim to attend graduate school and pursue a Ph.D. in astrophysics.
