SPS Leadership Scholarship
I am a senior attending USC, majoring in Physics and minoring in Astronomy. I have been a member of USC's SPS since my first year, became the Events director my third year, and will become a co-president this coming year. My passion for physics and astronomy began in high school from my love for sci-fi. I jump-started my career by pursuing my first internship at NASA Glenn Research Center. Since then, I went on to have a second internship at NASA during undergrad. I am now working on two research projects here at USC. The first involves helioseismology, in which we analyze solar oscillations to probe the interior properties of the sun. I've worked in this group for a few semesters now and have become a group leader. The second project I'm working on involves looking at Planck data to study the curvature of the universe. Being part of SPS has fulfilled my career in physics and astronomy by allowing me to apply the skills learned in the classroom to get others engaged and passionate about the field.
