SPS Leadership Scholarship
I'm about to begin my junior year as a physics major at the University of Central Arkansas. Other than my physics studies I'm minoring in mathematics and music as well as embarking on an honors interdisciplinary studies minor within the Schedler Honors College. Being in the physics department at UCA has been one of the best experiences of my life and has taught me that there is more to physics than I ever believed. It's not all about the numbers and variables. Being a successful physicist and scientist in general means working with other people and learning how to lead. I'm extremely grateful to all of my professors when it comes to preparing me in every aspects of my student self. I'm also incredibly appreciative of my SPS chapter here at UCA. I've been a member for about two years and spent this past year acting as chapter secretary. I've loved getting to know everyone in my chapter and having a taste of the responsibilities that come with leadership. Other than SPS, I am the president and a founding member of Finding Resources to End Exploitation, a Registered Student Organization that works to spread awareness against modern-day human trafficking. Following my senior year at UCA, I hope to pursue a Ph.D. in astrophysics somewhere out of state. In my free time, I enjoy acting and dancing at my local community theatre as well as playing the piano, reading, and singing!
