SPS Leadership Scholarship
I am a Senior physics major at Duquesne University. I have been a member of SPS since my Freshman year. I have served as Chapter President for the past year and will continue to serve as president through my senior year. Throughout my time as president, I have aimed to widen our chapter’s exposure to fields of physics that we may not see in our undergraduate career as well as implementing new SPS activities to create a welcoming community for physics majors and all interested in physics. Throughout my academic career, I have gained extensive research experience through Duquesne University's Undergraduate Research Program. Through this program and grants from my research advisor, I was able to work at INFN Frascati in Frascati, Italy, on a nuclear physics project focused on a detector at Jefferson Lab. This summer, I will return to INFN Frascati to continue this work through the DOE/INFN exchange program. Outside of research, I have worked as an undergraduate teaching assistant and tutor for one year. I am also a member of my university’s club soccer team. Following graduation, I plan to apply for Ph.D. programs in Medical Physics.
