Aman Kar

Biography

Starting Fall 2018, I will be a senior at the University of Wyoming pursuing a double major in Physics and Astronomy and a double minor in Mathematics and Computer Science. My work has included different projects through my undergraduate years. I am a senior member of our observing team for the 0.6 m telescope at the Red Buttes Observatory where we perform follow up observations of transiting exoplanet candidates. I have worked on characterizing giant exoplanets using the 2.3 m telescope at the Wyoming Infrared Observatory. Currently, I am researching young stellar objects from observations taken at the Red Buttes Observatory. I have been an active participant in the SPS Chapter at the University of Wyoming since my freshman year. I was recently elected both the Vice-President of our SPS Chapter and the Associate Zone Councillor for the upcoming academic year 2018-19. My hobbies including intramural sports, hiking, biking and swing dancing.
