SPS Leadership Scholarship
I am a senior at the University of Rochester majoring in Physics and Astronomy. I have been involved with the SPS since freshman year and have served as the Vice President in the past. I will be serving as the President in the upcoming academic year and I intend to facilitate more facultystudent interaction as well as reach out to underrepresented communities in physics and astronomy. I have been involved in research since sophomore year at my university and I have also participated in REU programs at the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory in Chile and Vanderbilt University in Tennessee. Currently I am participating in a REU program at the Maria Mitchell Observatory in Massachusetts where I am studying the outflow at the center of the Milky Way. I plan to apply to PhD programs in astrophysics this fall. Besides research, I am also interested in science policy.
