Christopher Phenicie

Biography

I am currently an incoming senior majoring in Physics at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Last year I was President of our local SPS chapter, and, together, our group made some big changes: This group was the first in recent history to attend a Zone Meeting (which we hosted ourselves) and was the first inducted into Sigma Pi Sigma. These are fitting rewards for a group that worked hard at over 11 outreach events and projects this year. I am currently involved with research on organic semiconductors, which has expanded my interests into Material Science. This summer, I will be studying block copolymers at the CU Boulder, and I have ambitions to continue Material Science research in graduate school. Outside of academics, I play alto saxophone in the marching band and a Campus band. Last summer, I fell in love with hiking, and I am looking forward to resuming this love affair as soon as weather permits.
