East Tennessee State University
2024
Peggy Dixon Two-Year Scholarship
My current academic achievements are comprised of being a Ronald McNair scholar, a Physics Ambassador, and being granted NASA funding for Research Methodology. More personally, I was honored with a Survivorship Scholarship by the SAEOPP committee in recognition for my academic perseverance during a tumultuous time in my life. I’m currently a senior at East Tennessee State University where I am the elected Chief Financial Officer of the Society of Physics students. During my short time in this position I, and the other SPS officers, are developing the inaugural chapter of Sigma Pi Sigma for ETSU. In addition to this prestigious initiation, we are also hosting the SPS Zone 8 meeting for the first time at our home university. In the future, I will continue my current research on magnetic OB type stars and examining their magnetic topology. I plan to graduate with a PhD in Astrophysics with a multifaceted background in instrumentation, material physics, and grant writing. My mission is to spark curiosity and a motivation for Physics, and STEM, in those around me.
