LLNL-AIP Leadership Scholarship
I am a rising senior majoring in Physics with a specialization in Astrophysics at the University of California San Diego. As the current chapter president, I have led my team in hosting a variety of events for the physics community at UC San Diego and the broader San Diego region. These efforts include research seminars, professional development workshops, outreach to local high schools, and events that focus on diversity, equity and inclusion, as well as on community building. On the side of research, I am currently exploring different topics, from reducing and analyzing telescope data, to creating and examining hydrogel-expandable molecular crystals. I am also developing myself as an educator and mentor to physics lowerclassmen by working as a tutor and helping out in physics courses. My goals for the future are to pursue a Ph.D. in physics and become a researcher and professor. I also aspire to be a mentor to underrepresented groups in STEM, especially young women in physics. Outside of physics, I like singing in choir, painting, and embarking on DIY projects!
