University of Central Florida
2021
Aysen Tunca Memorial Scholarship
I am currently a student at the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando (Go Knights!) and will be wrapping up my Physics major, Geosciences minor, and Geographic Information Systems certificate throughout the upcoming academic year. As a researcher in training, I am interested in planetary surface science, Martian habitability, and astrobiology at large. This summer I will be working with the Geosystem Modeling Group at the University of Bremen and am excited to learn about climate modeling and investigate how similar methods may be used to study the planetary bodies in our Solar System. After graduation, I plan to attend graduate school and continue my research in these areas. Ultimately, I would love to work as a researcher at a NASA facility, the Lunar and Planetary Institute, or in a similar research setting. As an undergrad, I have thoroughly enjoyed being active in SPS, Women in Physics, and the greater UCF community. Outside of the classroom and lab, I spend a fair portion of my time at group exercise classes, hanging out with my best friend and brother, and cooking or eating out!
