High Point University
AIP Mather Policy Intern
American Institute of Physics
My name is Jenna Mastropolo, and I am a rising senior at High Point University, where I am double majoring in chemistry and physics and minoring in mathematics. I’m from Hamilton, NJ, and am excited to spend my summer working in and exploring Washington D.C. as a Mather Policy Intern for NIST. I have a passion for learning about new science and technology and look forward to witnessing first-hand how the government is involved in its progress.
I currently serve as the President of the High Point University SPS Chapter, I am a member of the American Chemical Society and Alpha Chi Sigma, and I act as an ambassador for the Culp Planetarium and Wanek School of Natural Sciences at High Point. I have also participated for the last two years in undergraduate research, including a summer research program, at High Point University, where I am currently exploring the use of biomimetic patterned surfaces to combat bacterial biofilm growth. When I am not in the science building, I enjoy reading, spending time with friends, and listening to Taylor Swift. I am so excited to meet and learn from everyone this summer!
