Sabrina Campelo
Graduate Research Assistant
I am a current first year PhD student at the Virginia Tech-Wake Forest School of Biomedical Engineering and Sciences focusing on translational cancer sciences. I recently graduated from Duke University with my Masters in Medical Physics, and before then, I was a graduate of Elon University's Physics program. During my time at Elon University I served two years as my SPS chapter's Vice President where I was active in coordinating our chapter's events. After graduating from Elon and starting graduate school at Duke University, I wanted to continue to stay connected with SPS and decided to get involved as an Adopt-A-Physicist Mentor. Being a part of the mentorship program felt fulfilling, knowing that I could connect with and offer advice to younger students who may someday find themselves in my shoes! I believe that being a part of the Alumni Engagement program is a great way to stay connected to others in the field and to open up opportunities to offer and seek advice from those in the community.
Post graduate school, I plan to pursue residency in Medical Physics and seek a career in Radiation Therapy Medical Physics.
