I was involved with SPS and Sigma Pi Sigma while a student at Michigan State University, where I double majored in Physics & Economics. As a student, I did research searching for fourth-generation quarks with ATLAS. Over the summers, I interned at Fermilab, where I worked on detector development for a cosmic ray experiment, and at NASA's Suborbital Research and Education Center, where I worked on GIS mapping of wildfire spread. I also spent several semesters TA'ing introductory physics for both majors and non-majors. Since graduating, I've worked in the private sector, first in the finance department of a consumer bank where I forecasted, modeld, and presented data, and now study payments in the US for a global consulting firm. I'm not really involved very much with physics anymore, but I think the skills I learned as a physics major have helped me be better at problem solving and organizing my thoughts and am happy to share my perspective on non-traditional career paths for physics undergrads.
