I started my journey in higher education as an Exercise Science major at Appalachian State University. With the ever growing feel that this major wasn't the right fit for my interests, I started exploring other options within my science classes. I found my home in the Physics Department and the SPS club, and I continued biological physics research and wanted to continue past graduation. I was inducted into Sigma Pi Sigma my senior year.
After graduating with my B.S., I went to Duke University to get my Master's in Biomedical Engineering. While there, I did ultrasound research wanted to continue along this path for my PhD. I am currently pursuing my PhD at George Washington University in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
