University of Pittsburgh planned several hands-on demos to teach elementary students about gravity, forces, buoyancy, and surface tension. Four SPS members participated, built, and decorated tin foil boats to learn about buoyancy, balanced ping pong balls on hair dryers to explore gravity, demonstrated pressure differentials by sucking an egg into a flask, and learned about surface tension by balancing water droplets on a penny. The four-hour long program reached about sixty students in total.
