I am currently a Junior physics major and the Vice President of the Physics Club at Adelphi University. I am currently enrolled in a joint degree program with Columbia University. I hope to attain a degree in Civil Engineering subsequent the completion of my studies at Adelphi University. I recently was employed by America Reads/Counts, an organization that pairs college students with teachers at elementary schools with the objective of assisting them in teaching children. I have tutored and worked closely with over twenty students in Mathematics and English. All of these students had diverse needs and were from a wide array of cultural backgrounds. Currently, I am an academic coach for the Collegiate Science and Technology Entrance Program where I help underrepresented students in STEM achieve their academic goals through effective goal setting and planning. I am also a student researcher at the Adelphi Physics Lab with Dr. Matthew Wright. Our lab has been working on controlled, pulsed frequency chirped light at a large detuning for molecular and optical experiments. This year, we are awaiting the publication of our academic paper in the European Journal of Physics. I have also been published in the American Institute of Physics', Physics Today magazine.
