Tim Head grew up in Van Horn, Texas. He earned a B.S. in physics and mathematics in 2000 at Texas Tech University. While at Texas Tech, Tim served as president of the local SPS chapter and was inducted as a member of Sigma Pi Sigma. He subsequently attended the University of Illinois Urbana‑Champaign where he received Master's and Ph.D. degrees in solid state physics. Currently, he is an assistant professor at Abilene Christian University where he teaches and does research with undergraduate students in low temperature acoustic properties of solids. While at Abilene Christian, he has served as faculty co‑sponsor for the SPS/Sigma Pi Sigma chapter from 2008 until the present.
